Q Legends is a new quarterly special edition that focuses in on the biggest stars to have regularly graced Q since its launch in 1986. Using the huge in-house archive of material available, as well as new insight and rare photography, Q Legends takes an in-depth, luxurious, loving look at a career lived through the pages of Britain’s greatest music magazine.

There are two topical reasons why we’ve chosen Liam and Noel Gallagher of Oasis as our first subject: there are solo albums by both released just a few weeks apart in October and November 2017. But who are we kidding? We don’t need much of an excuse to wheel out the Gallaghers’ funniest, most in-depth interviews, their most iconic photos and the most hair-raising war stories from writers embedded on the frontline of three decades on the road with Oasis. Noel and Liam are the heavyweights who always deliver, to whom all modern rock stars must attempt to measure up. Even when their albums may have sagged, the interviews remained gold-standard. In fact, as solo artists, they may have even improved as interviewees, for with age comes great nonsense.
